During the field visits you will visit companies situated in de surroundings of Emmeloord. This area is the heart the of the potato industry in The Netherlands. Two interesting routes are offered; storage & processing. The maximum number of participants per route is 25 persons.
Tour 1: Storage
The quality of the potato is affected by several factors during storage. The Netherlands are leading in maintaining the quality of post-harvest produce and storage durability. During the tour you visit Dutch companies who can explain more about – and demonstrate the latest technologies and innovations.
Tour 2: Processing
The Netherlands are leading in the fully processing of the potato and offer technological solutions for the complete value chain. We control the technology of harvesting, sorting, handling, processing and packaging the potato. We keep innovating the potato processing process. The new technologies reduce the use of water and energy and need little maintenance. The different product types like chips, frites, snacks, and other (by-)products ask for different treatment and different machinery. During the field visits, we offer you a peek at the most important innovative sites.
The program of the field visits (with the definitive company names) will be regularly updated and you will receive the final version via email.
The tour will take the whole day and is including: transport by bus and lunch.
